Almost Forgot...

I remember seeing Roy Firestone interviewing Lyle Alzado near the end of his life. Alzado talked about how his abuse of steroids had totally destroyed his body and mind. The interview continued and then out of the blue, Firestone asked Alzado when his son's birthday was. Alzado just sat there, the concentration of him trying to remember when it was clearly written on his face. Finally after about 10 seconds of silence he went, "I can't remember," and started to cry. That left such a huge impact on me.

Yeah, I remember Lyle Alzedo. Not that particular interview, but I know he blamed his cancer on steroid abuse.

As of right now, Barry still needs one to just tie Willie Mays, let alone catch Hank Aaron...he'll have to hopscotch the Babe too before he approaches the record...personally, I hope he doesn't get it...I've never been a Barry fan...he has one this year and he'll have to hit 54 more before he ties Babe Ruth...I don't think any hitter will hit 54 this year, not even my guy Sammy...50 maybe, but not 54...

We're still going to see guys hit 45-50 homers...one or three a season no less, but the times when there will be anyone closing in on 55-60 on a regular basis is not going to happen again for a while...

What a game to be watching right now: The Cincy Reds at The Chicago Cubs... both of the managers got thrown out of the game, Reds for arguing over a bad pitch (and the replay showed it was indeed a bad pitch that got called a strike) and the Cubs manager got thrown out after arguing over the lineup card... now it's going into the 8th inning, Reds up 9-7... great game to watch man, great game... and thank God for WGN...
